What info do I need to provide to do a SIM swap?

Edited

To complete a SIM swap—whether you're switching devices, replacing a damaged SIM, or moving from a physical SIM to an eSIM—you’ll need to provide specific information to verify your identity and authorize the request.

Here’s what you need to have ready:

✅ 1. Mobile Number (MDN)

The number you wish to swap must be active and associated with your account.

✅ 2. Email Address and Phone Number on File

Used for 2-Factor Authentication (2FA). A verification code will be sent to confirm your identity.

✅ 3. Security Questions

As an added layer of protection, you may be required to answer security questions that were set up when your account was created (e.g., “What was your first pet’s name?” or “What city were you born in?”). This helps confirm that the request is being made by the authorized account holder.

✅ 4. IMEI of the New Device

The IMEI number of the device you want to activate the SIM or eSIM on. This ensures proper provisioning and compatibility.

✅ 5. Reason for SIM Swap

Please provide a brief reason (e.g., lost SIM, upgrading to a new phone, switching to eSIM, etc.) to help process your request accurately and prevent unauthorized changes.

✅ 6. Billing Address

This helps us validate your account and apply any applicable regional taxes.

✅ What Happens After Verification?

Once all the information is verified, we’ll proceed with the SIM swap process:

  • If you are switching to a physical SIM, a replacement SIM card will be shipped to your address, and once received, you can activate the pSIM directly through the Infimobile website.

  • If you are switching to an eSIM, a new QR code will be generated and sent to your registered email. You can scan this QR code using your device’s settings to complete activation. The old SIM or eSIM will be automatically deactivated once the new one is active.

In most cases, the SIM swap is completed within a few minutes. However, depending on your device type and verification status, it may take a little longer.
