Why is my QR code not scanning during eSIM activation?

Edited

If you’re having trouble scanning the QR code to activate an eSIM with Infimobile, it could be due to device compatibility, connectivity, or settings issues. Follow these troubleshooting steps tailored to your phone type to resolve the problem.

For iPhone Users (iOS)

  1. Confirm Compatibility

    • Ensure your iPhone supports eSIM (iPhone XR or newer).

    • Verify your device is unlocked, as carrier-locked phones may reject Infimobile’s eSIM.

  2. Check Internet Connection

    • Connect to Wi-Fi or mobile data before starting the eSIM activation process.

  3. Remove Old eSIMs

    • Delete any unused or old eSIMs installed on your device to avoid conflicts.

  4. Manually Add eSIM

    • If the QR code scan fails, go to Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan.

    • Scan the Infimobile QR code again or enter eSIM details manually.

  5. Restart Device

    • Reboot your iPhone to refresh the system and retry activation.

  6. Update Software

    • Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available updates.

  7. Reset Network Settings (If Necessary)

    • If issues persist, navigate to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

    • This clears Wi-Fi, cellular, and VPN settings but preserves personal data.

For Android Users

  1. Verify Compatibility

    • Confirm your Android device supports eSIM (e.g., Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy S20 or later).

    • Ensure the phone is unlocked and not restricted by another carrier.

  2. Ensure Stable Connection

    • Connect to Wi-Fi or mobile data to enable eSIM activation.

  3. Clear Old eSIMs

    • Remove any unused eSIMs installed on your device to prevent interference.

  4. Manually Add eSIM

    • If the QR code doesn’t scan, go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIM Manager > Add Mobile Plan.

    • Scan the Infimobile QR code or input eSIM details manually.

  5. Restart Device

    • Reboot your phone to fix minor system glitches and retry activation.

  6. Check for Updates

    • Navigate to Settings > Software Update and install any pending system updates.

  7. Reset Network Settings (If Needed)

    • If the problem continues, go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

    • This resets network configurations without deleting personal files.
