Why aren’t my text messages (SMS) working?

Edited

If you’re having trouble sending or receiving texts on your Infimobile plan, the issue might be related to network problems, plan restrictions, blocked contacts, or incorrect settings. Follow these steps to fix it fast.

Step 1: Check Signal Strength

  • Ensure your phone has a strong signal. If it shows “No Service” or weak bars, move to a better location, like outdoors or near a window.

Step 2: Confirm Plan & Text Allowance

  • Verify Plan: Log into your Infimobile account to check if your plan includes texting and has available messages. Top up if needed.

  • Recipient’s Plan: If you can’t text one contact but can others, their plan may be inactive or lack texting support.

Step 3: Check for Blocked Contacts

  • iPhone: Go to Settings > Messages > Blocked Contacts and unblock any numbers.

  • Android: Navigate to Settings > Messages > Block Numbers and remove blocked contacts.

Step 4: Address “Insufficient Funds” Errors

  • International Texts: Ensure the correct country code is used for international numbers.

  • Plan Limits: Confirm you have enough texts remaining in your plan via your Infimobile dashboard.

Step 5: Resolve iPhone SMS Issues

  • Enable iMessage: Go to Settings > Messages, turn ON iMessage, and ensure your phone number is selected under Send & Receive.

  • Enable Send as SMS: In Settings > Messages, turn ON Send as SMS to use standard texts when iMessage isn’t available.

  • Check Cellular Settings: Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options, disable Data Roaming, and set Voice & Data to LTE.

Step 6: Resolve Android SMS Issues

  • Adjust Settings: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network, turn OFF Data Roaming, and set Network Mode to LTE/CDMA, LTE/3G/2G, or Global.

Step 7: Contact Support

If these steps don’t work, reach out to Infimobile’s 24/7 Support team via chat, email, or phone for personalized help to restore your texting capabilities!
